Several years back someone got ARP to make one or two runs of bolts for the
U-20 engine. They had to send a rod or two. I contacted ARP early this
year and they had no record of the bolt specifications and no inventory.
They said that they would need more original parts and then would start
over. I'm sure there would be a minimum order and probably a large setup
charge.
BTW 3/8=.3750 and 7/16=.4375. The shank diameter on the U-20 bolt is
about .441".
ARP #135-6002 bolts may be suitable for an R-16 rod but someone needs to
check. ARP has different grades of material and different designs for the
shanks of the bolts and of course different prices.
There are some 7/16 big block Chevy rod bolts that are close but I think
they are too short.
