I'm copying Carl Hocket's E mail below to the roadster list to see if it
generates conversation.

To Carl - What services do you believe these organizations would be able to
provide us?

1st, please acknowledge this email, if only to blow me a raspberry.

2nd, I've been plugging away at developing resources for what we
need, and I'm only one guy, BUT....

3rd, I'd like to know what you collectively think about (that's why
acknowledge this email) getting officially and pro-actively involved
in solving our own problems - Datsun restoration and maintenance-wise
that is.

4th, Proposal: I'd like to join various organizations - AS A CLUB -
(working on SEMA right now) to take advantage of the networking and
resources available there. Would you as members be willing to chip
in a couple bucks here and there to offset the costs? One way of
doing this is to set up a club - I propose combining all pre-'68
Datsun (open to discussion, of course and as always)
clubs/owners/fanatics so we become a more significant force - with
membership fees. I know of a Volvo club that does effectively that.
They developed the resources and pass the benefits along to the
members, in availability and, where possible, pricing (bulk
purchases, etc.). They charge something like $15/yr. I just joined
just so I could get some hard-to-find parts, and at a significant
discount over the few other sources available.

What say you all? Feedback, discussion, criticism (hopefully
constructive) always welcome.

Take Care & Enjoy,
