Sid,
thirty year old paint does weird things. I am somewhat of an expert on
this area with my 20 some years of experience restoring vintage
guitars.
Colors change, they fade, they yellow etc. Sora Blue was almost an
exact match for a Dupont color that Fender guitars used in the 60s. I
have seen original examples of these, have the blue fade out and others
yellow. when it fades out it turns more of a whiteish hue and when it
yellows, well you guessed it....turns more turquoise.
On my 70, underneath the dash the color is more of a turquoise, and
when I took out the interior the pain that had been protected by carpet
was the prettiest pristine sora blue I'd seen.
