Well, thought I'd follow up on this .. kinda cool. I finally met the
husband today (that did the body off resto'). He had a buddy years ago with
a 2L Datsun, and he said that no one could keep up with him (just like Dr.
Gordon said! :) ). He was astounded at the HP-to-weight ratio of the Datsun,
let alone reliability. He said that!! heh heh :) . Heck, I give him a gold
star just for noticing in neighborhood drive-by's that mine's a 2000!
They pulled the MGA out of the garage (parked for 48 hrs) - there were
THREE huge oil puddles! Lord a'mighty, my rear main seal doesn't do ONE
puddle that big in 6 months! I was admiring their 'bicycle' tires; looked
pretty new? Naw, a couple of years old. Cripes I can't keep the tread on
my drive wheel for more than a year! Well, I'm cured. I'll take HP and
reliability over looks any day.. Datsun's ain't that bad a looking
anyway!

p.s. took my roadster to Denver for a WyCROC rendezvous Saturday. Got
30.7 mpg cruising 85-90 (by the speedo) ;) . Must be running too lean.
Will I get more power if I richen it up?
p.p.s. husband of aforementioned MGA drives a '63 FI'd Corvette that he
restored. Just placed 3rd in a vette show in Texas; and he DROVE it down
there. My kinda guy!!
