Big THANKS to all that responded. Art got it running by priming the fuel
lines from the carbs back to the tank and a nice think ring of Vaseline
around the strainer gasket just in case it was leaking. A few turns with
the starter and the motor sprang to life.
Of course he only let it run long enough to mark all the fuel leaks. Now
he is off to the parts house for some new fuel hose and clamps!!
Art has been an OROC member for several years now but driving a Miata
while dreaming of restoring a badly rusted 1500 that his son bought 15 years
ago and abandoned in his back yard. He recently bought this 1500 with a
1600 drive train as a short cut to getting a Datsun on the road. He has
been amazed at all the help OROC members and this list have provided. I
think he may ask Santa for a computer this year so he can join in on more
fun.
Again, Art wants to say thank you to all that responded. Now how about a
1500 hub cap so the car doesn't limp once it is back on the road?
