Actually, I was getting ready to ask the same question. I can't seem to find
any reference in the shop manual. Chilton's mention a hose running from the
cover to the air cleaner, to allow crankcase vapors to be burned along with
air/fuel mixture, which sounds to me like a good thing. I'm considering
switching back to the stock air cleaner, if I can get hold of a filter. Any
opinions from the more experienced would be most appreciated.

They look just like the filters I used on my car for a long time. Mine were
Weiand. They work fine you'll just need to tinker a bit with the crankcase
vent hose if you want to run it to both filters instead of just to one of
them.
