It's always nice to hear from a club member that has had success in getting
his/her car back on the road. From my letter to the club this morning I
received the following reply. I thought I would pass it along to the list
for those seeking inspiration.

Hey there every one, I just had a major Breakthrough with my car last night.
I just fairly recently traded my friend running but non moving 69 Beetle for
His Non Running Non rolling 64 Fairlady ... after working hard for over a
month trying to free up the choke on the SU's i was about ready to break
down and buy Brand New Webber's, much to my dislike. i was pulling my
manifold when what happens ... both the chokes break free... i spent the
entire day cleaning up the twin Hitachi's and put them in sat evening....
Sunday, just itching to get to work... i go out to get some gas... i come
back and filled
the lady up. with a turn of the key it fires right up ... with a few
backfires and a quick idle adjustment it was off and running ... the first
time in 13 years this car has started ... with only about 57,000 on the OD.
i am looking forward to many great days of driving ahead ... see you all on
the road...
