Yep, the folks at MSA have been trying to get more participation from owners of
other classic Datsuns for several years now. Last year at Solvang Les and I
brought this up, at MSA proprietor Greg Smith's request. Not to take anything
away from Solvang, but to let folks who were going to Solvang know there was a
Sunday event they could also attend that weekend, and that those who couldn't
make Solvang had an alternative event.
Greg has been very sensitive of people's feelings and has not wanted to step on
any toes, but he did want to make sure people understood that all classic
Datsuns were welcome, and not just Zs. He makes nothing off the attendance of
non-Z owners, he just wants to make the event the best Datsun event possible. I
heartily recommend anyone who can make stop by on Sunday at least. It is by far
the biggest Datsun event in the US with over 600 cars and lots and lots of
people. They close off the street and make a real event out of it. It's a blast.
All it needs is more Roadsters and other classic Datsuns on display.
