Hey Gordon - I have not read the article, but it is amazing how much Jaguars
are! They don't have low production numbers (not rare), they don't handle
all that well, are engineered poorly, not reliable ....... But, you say
you have a Jag and people go "oohhh- aaahh". On the ooohhh ahhh thing -
the Roadster gets oohh and ahhs from people that like a different,
interesting, and fun car (kids, car nuts, etc..), while Alan in his Jag gets
the ooohh and aaahhs from people that are image minded (Hooster's girls and
such). Two different cars - two different mind sets. Of course there is
fellow SEROCer Chris who gets flashed by teen-age girls..... That shoots my
theories all to hell!
Happy Roadstering and be careful! Lots of roll overs around here lately.
Last two I saw were 2/4 door compacts - I thought that was a SUV domain.

Henry N. Manney III described the XK-E as "the greatest
crumpet-collector
known to man." Read Peter Egan's column ("Side Glances") in the
latest Road
& Track. Just by coincidence.

Hey list -
Who re-sleeves the front brake calipers? Helped my friend (hay, I
have
one!) take the calipers off his '66 E-type this weekend. Had to
drop the
whole rear end to get the rears off - what a pain. After that he
was
talking selling the Jag and buying a Roadster! Weird to see
Roadster
calipers on a Jag - or Jag calipers on a Roadster - Chicken or
egg...........
Drove the Roadster all over town Saturday - boy these things attract
a lot
of attention - my friend was amazed! He is one up on me - the
Hooter girls
came out to look at the Jag. Only because my Roadster was not
there:-)
Happy Roadstering!!
