I think that I read that the ceramic coating helps keep the under hood 
temperature
down.

Theoretically, reduced under hood temperature is supposed to account for a 
slight
increase in horse power.  I think the jet hot coating people state something 
like
1 hp for every 10 - 15 degree drop in underhood temp.  It is supposed to make 
the
metal component last longer, too.
