Subject: CA black plates
If anyone has California black plates on their car, would you send me (off
list) the first 3 letters and the year of your car? I'm trying to figure out
roughly what letters match up with each year. As far as I know they were
issued sequentially starting in 1963.
U or V seems to be around 1967.

my '67 2000 was sold new in Pasadena in 9-67. Black plate VFP--- was on the
car at least in'78 (San Gabriel)which looks to be the earliest record of
registration I have
If I find an earlier registration, I'll let you know.
