I spent many hours reading posts from the archives to try to find out
more on my electrical problem.
Also I have gotten much good input from some of you.
Still I have not solved my problem and have not found any one with a
similar situation on list Quest.
Just as a refresher, my ammeter reads +30 when I'm over 2500 rpm. when
I am running lights it reads about +20
here is what I know to be fact.
regulator good
alternator good
wiring correct
battery good
fuse box feels warm to hot
I've been tracing wires like mad
thought maybe the cig lighter wire was pinched/shorting, causing
excessive drain
tested, with the battery disconnected, the blue/white wire that feeds
the lighter and map light.
between this wire and ground, the ohmmeter reads direct contact.
does this mean it is shorted to ground?
TIA
Roman
PS. soon I'll be back on the registry, right now life has bitten me on
the butt, real hard
