Was at a friend's dyno place today where someone brought in an MG BGT to
dyno. It put out something in the range of 76hp and 81lb ft to the wheels.
That was a gain of a few hp and lb-ft over what it baselined at on his first
run. He bumped up the timing a bit and performed some minor tweaks... and
here's the kicker, he actually gained the most hp and torque when he put the
air filters back on the dual SUs!!! And the car actually ran a little bit
more lean with the filters in place (logic would seem to dictate the opposite
to occur). Made me wonder what kind of numbers an R16 and U20 roadster would
put out...
