Rick,

Take a look at the drive tang on the bottom of the distributor... it is also
ground off center!

This allows you to remove the distributor, change the points and condensor,
check the rest of the little things, and install it back into the correct way
and
not 180 degrees off.

Also the number one spark plug is the upper left one on the distributor cap.
I've seen quite a few cars that were put together incorrectly, so the
mechanic
would swap around all the spark plug wires to get it set back up correctly.
1-3-4-2 counter clockwise, btw.

One of those little things to help out when doing a tune up. ;-)
