Robbie,
I don't recall how long you said this car was sitting, if it has been a
short time (a few weeks), the problem could be a blown head gasket. If
water leaks into a cylinder, you will oNLy be able to turn it over until
all the gas is compressed. Best thing to do is remove the valve cover
and all the spark plugs. Slowly turn the engine (you should be able to
turn it with one hand using a 1/2 ratchet on the front pulley -- don't
force it), watch the cam, chain and valve train all should move
together. If the cam is not rotating then STOP, you have a broken chain
as John suspects. Note either a cam chain or jackshaft chain failure
will cause this problem (you can't see the jackshaft chain without
removing the front cover) -- though the cam (longer) chain is more
likely. If it's water in cylinder it may come out of the spark plug
holes.
Here's hoping it's a head gasket.
