reference "datsunmike" message below:
okay folks, where is the horn relay? Mine may be my cause of my continuing
frustration.
Is it inside the horn 'sounder' itself, or somewhere in between steering
wheel button and dash wiring?

BTW: mine was not working, so I pulled the button-center, clipped the
connection off the wire, found touching the bare wire to the outer metal rim
made it work. Then, 2 days later it wouldn't work. (without blowing fuse)
So, I just curled the wire up inside, re-installed the button and drove it
for a week or so. The one day I come back out, I turn the key to start and
nothing, no sound. I pop the hood and find the neg. battery terminal
removed. I notice there is a business card under the wiper from the Costa
Mesa PD, which says "alarm malfunctioning, disconnected battery".
Pretty cool of them not to tow me, probably cost $150 to get it back.

So I re-wire it with new connector, and it works for 2 days, and now it
doesn't again. I already disassembled the horn itself, per Pat Horne's
suggestion, and found it was shiny and clean inside, nothing amiss.

Sometime's it's the simple things that are most frustrating,

The exact same thing happened to my horn relay this year. Took it out,
opened the relay, cleaned the contacts and voila sound!

BTW I have had the switch go bad too on the lights!!
