You can use a spring compression gage to "guess" the increase in by-pass pressure, but be careful about restricting the flow of oil out the by-pass because the "valve" can not move enought. ( better to find a stronger spring, nissan comp. spring?) Otherwise if you rev your engine when its cold, you could blow out the oil filters. Been there, done that.
