Sounds to me like the shank of your lug nuts isn't fitting tightly in
the holes in the ZX wheel and so you are not getting the wheels centered
on the studs. The ZX wheels use a rather thick shanked nut. Try mounting
the wheel first with two tapered seat nuts and tightening these by hand
only (but get them as snug as you can by hand). Then install two shank
nuts on the other two studs and tighten these with a lung nut wrench.
Now remove the two tapered seat nuts and install the last two shank nuts
on the studs you had the tapered seat nuts on and tighten with the
wrench. Put the wheel back on the ground and torque with torque wrench.
Repeat for each wheel. The tapered seat nuts will act to center the
wheel while you install the first set of shank nuts, which will then
hold the wheel in place while you replace the tapered seat nuts with the
proper nuts. Dennis at CDM gave me this suggestion for some aftermarket
wheels I had that had a similar problem.
