I replaced my harness with one from my parts car, only had to buy the short
starter harnes from Ralleye. Used a wire diagram from someones (can't
remember who's) site (laminated it which was a huge help in keeping it
clean) and after it was all put back together, IT STARTED! First try- no
smoke-no melting plastic smells. Did some victory laps around my
father-in-laws land and promptly ran out of gas. I knew it was low, but not
quite that low.
But anyway, I have looked through tons of e-mails and the archives and I
have one gauge problem. The temp gauge does not work, the fuel gauge pauses
briefly around the level it may have in the tank and then goes all the way
to full. I understand these gauges are working off the same regulator under
the dash. I believe I have one on my parts car, but which one is it? Any
other diagnositcs before I try to replace this part? Neither worked before
I replaced the harness.
My brake check light works now. When I first subscribed to the list, I had
no idea what the switch or the non-functioning light was for.
