Phil,
I had mine off the other day for an oil change. I think it measured out at
about 4-9/16 by approximately 17/32 (which is about .540). Definitely over
4 inches, but I'll have to check my notes to see exactly what it measured
out to. It fits in the top portion of the hole, and is a tight fit from the
top portion in, as I had to twist/pry it out and whack it back in. I took a
couple pics against a ruler and can forward them to you. Anyhow, the tube
was just shy of the length of a Fram PH3639 oil filter.
