Alan,
That's an unfortunate experience.  At least they replaced the plug.  I had a
much more favorable experience with Bosch platinums.  I put them in my wifes
'87 Civic and they lasted about 50k miles.  Got 1-2 more mpg than stock
plugs.  It seems to depend on issues other than just the plugs themselves.
Does everyone check the plug gap before installing them.  That may explain
the differences.  For Roadsters, no one seems to have bad experiences with
NGKs.
