As they say "all bets are off". ;-)
I am also active in collecting antique glass. A good friend collects
any "souvenir item" from Kansas.
There was something I wanted, but figured that $75.00 would be my
limit. Well, I slipped and typed $7500. Yes, $7500. Cheryl went
crazy, and bided the item up to $140 before letting it go.
After that when she sees me bidding, but it is something she really
wants she will send me a note with her "highest price". Guess what,
every so often someone new joins the game and out bids US!
All is fair in love and war, but watch out. ;-) Someone asked why the
heck did I bid $1200 on a WATER PITCHER when I don't have a bed. I
smiled and explained "I can buy a bed anytime... ".
