List~
I'm still trying to decide what to do about my starter, however it seems pretty
clear it's getting baked. Drive car, car gets hot, car won't start. If I find a
nice grassy area to park on and lift the hood the heat seems to dissapate and
the car will start (not every time though). All the connections are tight,
solonoid was replaced and the starter rebushed less than a year ago. Also the
header was replaced with a thermocoated polished version (could this be
contributing to the problem?).
Here's what I see as options and I'm wondering what other suggestions there
might be: Replace starter and..
1. Relocate starter, ok, fine, where to?
2. Install heat shield, sounds good, where do I get one?
3. Wrap starter in insulating blanket, frame could rust so this isn't a good
option.
What other options do I have? Sorry for the length and thanks ya'll for the
help!
