We fought the British Empire in 1776 and again in 1812. We fought the
Spanish Empire in 1898, and the German and Japanese Empires in 1944.
(Germans also in 1916). We sent armed troops to Mexico, Tripoli, Kuwait,
Bosnia, etc., without a formal declaration of war. If you count as
adversaries all the satellite countries of all the people we've fought, can
you name a country we haven't been in conflict with? Maybe the Vatican or
Switzerland. And the Vatican doesn't build cars (but it does have armed
troops)
Roadster content: I put a twist-off battery terminal on the negative post
of my battery that will act as an anti-theft device when unscrewed and will
keep low-amp drain items like the alternator field exciter and the clock
from draining the battery during extended storage. I have also used a
racer's emergency shutoff switch (with the big red paddle handle) mounted
inside the engine compartment as an anti-theft device. A thief can defeat
either device handily, but a joyrider won't want to take the time. If you
run a very light wire from the chassis to the negative terminal to bypass
the twist-off terminal, you can keep the clock running and the wire will act
as a low amp fusible link if the thief tries to use the high amp starter.
You could even put a 1/2 amp fuse in the wire, to save replacing the wire
every time you forget to screw the twist-off terminal back together.
