List~
My starter is beginning to give me grief (just ask the NOWROC members who
cheerfully(?) gave me a push start off the ferry, and about 4 other times
through out the day!). P/O reciepts show the starter was rebuilt/solenoid
replaced 10 months ago. Now when the car's been running for a while the starter
gets overheated and shuts down.
Question: Do I have to replace it or with these symptoms or would a heat shield
solve the problem?
Question 2: If I have to replace it is there a FAQ that shows how to get down
in there and do the job? I've been told I can come from underneath but that I
have to cut out the triangular metal piece on the frame that guards the starter
from mud. Reliable sources tell me this is not a good idea for structural
integrity.
TIA!
