For street/autocross use I use and can recommend the Axxis (Repco) Metal
Masters. For race I prefer Carbotech blue fronts and kelated metallic rears
over the Porterfield R4's, can't comment on the R4S's.
Performance Friction doesn't do our pads, don't even try, but you can use
the early 510 (9") shoe.
Larry Narcus takes Hawk blue material and cryo-treats it (something
Porterfield doesn't do). The result is a rotor freindly pad with more bite
(my opinion) than the R4's have, with no grooving and little dust. Pads
lasted almost two seasons! Old Nissan comp green shoes would groove the
hell out of the aluminum drums, not so with the kelated metallic. I can't
speak to Larry's street compounds, but if they're anything like the race
materials mentioned, they'll work well for you.
Give Larry a call, toll free at (877)899-5024. Tell him Bill Wessel sent
you. I get nothing from it (I just ordered another set for myself) but
Larry is a great guy and really knows his stuff, and he knows the cars.
I also use Castrol LMA.
Good luck, and care for your brakes...they'll take care of you.
