Michael -
I would not feel you did a bad thing. There are sooo many people out there
to make a fast buck at anyone's expense. From what I have read, Mr. K is a
very nice man that has given what free time he has left to us Datsun nuts.
I agree with you - why would Mr. K sell or get into an agreement to sell
novelties. As far as this guy claming to be in Mr. K's inner circle could
be a bunch of crap. Here at NASA I get this all the time. I have come to
the conclusion that if I don't know it for fact, I don't trust the words out
of peoples mouth. I have worked to many failures in space (when it is way
to late) because someone wanted to strut his stuff claming knowledge or
knowing someone that has that knowledge. And another thing I have found out
- if one gets upset for something I have said, what I have said is correct.
If I have said something wrong about a person or project, that person I have
wronged is usually very calm and is more than happy to set me straight in a
polite manner. If a person is right and knows it he will not get mad when
challenged. He will be proud to state facts he knows is right. The guys at
Sunset Z may be right, but you have hit a nerve - something else is going on
here we don't know. I would love to have a piece of history with Mr. K's
signature - but I want it legitimate, and I will pay a legitimate price with
Mr. K's blessing.
Phil

Subject: Mr.K's Signature
Hello,
This evening I received a very interesting and irate call from the
shop that
is selling Mr. K's signature on items and collectibles. He
explained to me
that he had many of these things singed by Mr.K with the
understanding that
they would be sold though his company. It was explained that he has
a long
history with Mr. K and is part of Mr. K's circle of friends. As
well he
explained to me many other things that tell me that his sale of
these items
were totally acknowledged by Mr. K and are done with his blessings,
"so to
speak"
I have no reason to doubt this fellow on these claims. And I
apologize for
upsetting him. I believe that I may have said some things that were
alittle
far-fetched and I truly wish that I had not made such comments.
These
comments were made abruptly and without detailed knowledge of the
special
transactions between Mr. K and Sunset Z but solely based on what I
perceived
through the website.
I take back the comments that I made on my earlier post. My sincere
apologies to Sunset Z and to all of the readers of the Datsun
Roadster List.
I made a foolish mistake. I would much appreciate acknowledgment to
this
email.
