Fred,
1600's had the 7000 rpm tachs; 2000's went to 8000 rpm.
The 160 mph should have only been fitted to the 2000's.
'67.5 & 68 2000s having the 160 mph fitted. '69 & '70
2000's had 140 mph speedometers fitted.
Since replacement parts could have been any speedo or
tachometer it is not uncommon to see different speed/rpm
on the cars after all these years.
Of some really odd trivia is a flat dash 180 mph speedo.
I suspect it is really a 180 kph hour (about 110 mph)
speedometer. It is clearly visible in a photo of FAIRLADY I
(page 57) showing a RHD 1600.
