Check out Hemmings Motor News. I seem to recall a couple of
restoration shops who worked with old radio's. One neat trick
they did was to keep everything looking original, but gut
the internal board and use a small internal board with modern
electronics. Viola... great tunes, and a stock look.
Little humor, we do some of the IC's for lots of the modern
vehicles. We have a TWO CHIP radio. You open the box, and there
is NOTHING in it. All the AM&FM functionals are done by one IC,
other is the power amplifier.
