Phil, and anybody else thinking of starting up a roadster club,

As one of the founding fathers of OROC, I will be happy to tell you the only
thing you really need to start up a new roadster club; find a couple as
dedicated as Chris and Diane Luers, AKA, Team Luers!
Several owners around Ohio may have thought of getting a group together (me
included), but until Chirs organized us and Diane bugged us all on the phone,
countless times, we were not OROC. Team Luers published our newsletter with
next to no help, writing or financial, for the first few years. They have
sought out and found vendors to supply OROC with T-shirts, ball caps, and mugs.
They have searched Ohio for new and interesting places to gather the club for
family picnics and some great rides!
Their success can be easily measured. OROC had it's big start in June of 1998
at the MidOhio Vintage GP. I think we were up to 15 members at that time. Rush
forward to June, 1999, MidOhio Vintage GP and the announced membership was over
45, AND roadsters out numbered Z's at Sundays show! Todays membership is over
65 and growing. Can't wait for June 23-25 this summer to see the size of the
roadster crowd at the Vintage GP!

So, see; it is easy to have a successful club!
