Hi,
BADROC is having our first get-together for Year 2000 at the end of the
month: the 2nd Annual BADROC Sausalito Chill! Like last January, some of us
will gather in late morning, in downtown Sausalito by the Bay for
picture-taking sessions among the tourists. The date is Saturday, January
29th, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. to around 1:00 p.m.
Unlike last year, this may just be a parked gathering unless someone wants
to run (no takers yet). Last year after displaying our cars (and drooling
when a tourist gal asked one of our favorite roadsterites for a ride), we
did a run north thru the Marin valley roads to Drakes Beach. This was
approximately 46 miles thru beautiful scenic territory. Most were brave
souls as it was cold, windy, and partly wet and many of us were top-down,
because some of us don't have any. Drakes Bay is supposedly where the
English pirate Sir Francis Drake set foot on our shores in the 15th century
while evading the Spanish (although I believe it was SF Bay).
