List,
I have two ideas one is urethane it comes in many different durometers,
and Teflon. Urethane is not as prone to rot as butyl rubber and can be
compressed at different rates by changing durometers. Teflon would
work as it weathers well and can take the friction of two metal surfaces
rubbing against each other. We used Teflon pads on pipe rack slip
connections, so as the pipe expanded during the heat of the day it
could move in the rack with out loading the pipe. This is only my
opinion I have not used these on a frame yet, but if things go well
maybe this Spring.
