V-belts,

Hello All,

        Coudl someone tell me (who maybe has had a roadster for a long
time) if the fan belts on our cars were originally V-belts??  From looking at
the waterpump pully-crankshaft pully-alt pully they look like they 
were designed for v-belts. Not the truncated u shaped belts that newer 
cars have.  If I am using a new style belt in my car could this be the reason 
that my alt belt seems to slip????
