Gee, I  hope you haven't overlooked the obvious and have checked the clutch 
adjustment, fluid level, and maybe even give the system a good bleeding? ? ?

Also, if you've been skipping first, the disc may be wearing more than usual, 
and it just may be time for new friction. ( Of course, fixing first might be 
nice while you have it out!)
