I know you are kidding, but that would only work if someone wanted to buy them!
You wouldn't want to get stuck with a bunch of stuff no one wanted.
I (and many of the suppliers) are definately at the point where we are throwing
a
bunch of this stuff away because it isn't moving, taking up space, and many
customers
won't pay what it is worth. It is often easier just to junk it thank to crate
it up for next
to nothing.
I still think it is a question of attracting new collectors. - and the Internet
may be a great way to stir the blood. Roadster Spam????

Unless you have a yard full of cars that you are trying to sell, why would
you want the value to go up? Wouldn't that just make parts and therfore
parts cars more expensive? I thought part of the appeal of these cars was
that they are fairly cheap to purchase and maintain. If ball joints go up
past $500 a set I'll be tempted to make my own.

Even a half decent restoration can cost much more than you could ever sell
it for.
Seems sad that so many spend so much are their cars, put in so much effort,
end up selling for one reason or another, (often in distress) and then take a
major financial hit on top.
This is certainly the case with many types of cars, not just Roadsters, but
it just seems that Roadsters should do better (the is the romantic coming
through
again), since they are such fun, relatively reliable (insert other good points
here), etc.
IMHO, there certainly isn't anything better (and much worse) about a Healy,
MGA,
Mustang, except what you can get out of them when you decide to sell.
I am certain we can improve the situation....
(Ball joints are just one of THOSE parts that are very expensive and have been
for
a long time. Same deal, they were never used on anything else. I think we
are
very lucky to be able to buy them if you want to. Amazingly, they are about the
same price they were 8 years ago!)
