I don't have any personal experience with Maaco, but had an Earl
Scheib job once. I had done all the bodywork myself, car was in
primer, had removed all chrome. only thing I forgot to take off was
the license plate in back. the black paint job looked real decent,
but instead of undoing the 2 screws and taking the plate off, they
had masked it off and shot the car- so I had a grey primer rectangle
under the tag. I agree you get what you pay for, but unless you need
a bunch of bodywork, should be able to get a nice job on the south
side of 2 grand.
