Just got home from a "sports car only " show put on by the Corvette club
of Arizona. There were two divisions of course, one for the vettes and
one for the "other sports cars" . There were Panterras, a Ferrari,
Porsches, an absolutely perfect 1948 MG "c" as well as some Italian car
of which only 50 were made. AND then there were two roadsters, the black
RCKTSHP and the blue one, SPL XTC. It was a peoples choice and was held
on the lawn in front of an up-scale Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale and
the patrons were given ballots with their meals. We went (Lance, Judy,
and I) with the idea of showing the less expensive side of the hobby and
maybe interesting others in our style of sports cars. Amazingly We
answered truly interested people's questions from all the other
participants and lots of admiration from the crowd as they looked at all
the cars.
WE WON 3rd Place for the " sports car" class beating out the
Panterras, the Porsches, and the Ferrari. The MG took first (well
deserved) and the limited production Italian took second.
As good as the winning were the many stories heard about these little
cars that were enjoyed by many of the others.
