I too am building a little more power into my car, a VG30ET (222 HP). I was
told by a friend of mine who raced "souped up" roadsters in the mid 70s that
he was always right at the 200 hp range and the rear end held up quite well.
I remember reading that the 160/180/200 housings were supposed to be good
for 400 hp if the gears would hold it. That I feel might be a little
extreme. The other point is how the power is coming down. If it is a gradual
power on like out of a corner then it should hold alot. But if you are drag
racing where you have sudden power on, that's when parts get broken.
Remember, this is just MHO.

I have a couple of questions that may have been answered in the past.
First,
are there any front disk brake caliper upgrades that can be done to a '66?

have a '73 240Z with dual piston Toyota 4X4 calipers on the stock 240Z
rotors.
I was wondering if there was any similar swaps that can be done to improve
braking performance for Roadsters.
Secondly, how much HP can the stock solid rear differential handle? I am
currently building a Buick 215 aluminum block V8 that will push at least 200
HP and up to 250-275HP. I want to make sure the rear can handle it, and if
not...ugh. Shortening a Ford 9" or Chevy 12 bolt is expensive.
