Sounds like head gasket, or could be cracked head :(.
When you take the head off, be really careful not to tear up the gasket.  If
you can find an obvious path where the coolant has blown through into the
combustion chamber. If you can find that, you generally won't have to keep
looking.  Also look to see if the coolant has cut a channel in either the head
or block.  Good luck.
