That's more likely to be the damper setting than the springs.

I think you need more comprehensive information than you can get by asking
questions one at a time.

The most accessible books on the subject of suspension tuning are Carroll
Smith's :

They cost a total of GBP40.85 in the UK, and may be cheaper in the USA.  You'll
learn a lot more than just suspension too.
