Erik, You'd be amazed what people heave, or sell once they take it off of
their car. 
 The Nissan box is looking promising, I am working on getting one to play with.
The shifter internally consists of a long rod that goes up to the shifter
forks. It looks like a well placed assault with a grinder and a TIG 
welder might solve everything :).
