The biggest problem with using a Laycock OD unit is that you need to
rig some way of driving the OD's internal oil pump. And you need a 
bunch of room to mount the OD! The cars that use them have an
extra lobe on the output shaft that will drive the hydraulics;
I imagine that this is not an easy thing to "just get made up".
