Noisy Engine

My 5.0L is a bit noisy when coming down in rpm.  Between 1100 and 1600 either
very light load or slowing down.  I'm guessing that the valves are slapping
the cam forward as there might be a resonance in the system.

Do any of you have symptoms like these.

Or my other thought is that I have a rod bearing going bad.

Any thoughts.
