HI GREG
IS IT AN AUTO OR MANUAL BELLHOUSING?
AN AUTO HOUSING HAS A BORG WARNER 35 BEHIND IT ( THIS TRANSMISSION
WAS STRENGHTENED TO TAKE THE TORQUE OF THE P MOTOR )IT WAS USED LATER FOR
THE FORD FALCON, BUT THEN CALLED A B/WARNER 40.
THE MANUAL HOUSING HAS A BORG WARNER 3 SPEED OR 4 SPEED BEHIND IT.
THE 3 SPEED V8 BOX IS THE SAME ONE THAT THE CHRYSLER RT E38 CHARGER USED
THE 4 SPEED IS THE SAME AS THE E49 CHARGER USED. THOSE 2 CARS WERE THE
QUICKEST
FACTORY 6CYL EVER BUILT IN AUST IN THE 70'S.HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT.
THE NEW BLOCK I USED HAD NO ENGINE NUMBER ON IT,SO IT COULD HAVE BEEN USED
FOR A CAR OR TRUCK.THE TRUCK MOTOR WAS THE SAME BUT HAD ONLY 8 TO 1 COMP
RATIO.IF YOU LET ME KNOW THE FIRST FOUR NUMBERS ON YOUR BLOCK I CAN TELL
YOU WHAT IT CAME OUT OF IF YOU LIKE... 44?? (TRUCK PREFIX IS 4417) THE
TRUCK MOTOR ALSO HAD RED VALVE COVERS NOT BLUE ONES LIKE THE CAR.
REGARDS ANTON...
