My understanding of rhoads lifters is until they reach a certain rpm, they
don't pump up completely, thus effectively reducing the lift and duration
of the cam. It is only useful if you have a "lumpy" cam that makes low
speed driving or idleing difficult. I had used them on a few Pontiac
engines and they were great. It is kinda of like having a variable cam.
