Charlie,
The piston clearance varies with model,
BN4/BN6 is .0226 to .0008 inches
BN7 thru BJ8 is .0032 to .0043 at the top and .0010 to .0016 at the bottom
Sounds like you need a better manual. I've thinking of selling mine
with a few other AH odds and ends. Let me know if you are interested.
