The rear axle is already 2.88, don't want to go any lower as it will 
kill the standing-start performance.  Granted, the Interceptor isn't 
thought of as an off-the-line car.

33 Ints (out of about 6700 total) were fitted with 4-speed manual
trannys from the factory; 32 RHD and 1 LHD.  There are a couple of
guys on the Jensen list who are thinking about conversions.  I can't
remember which tranny they are considering.

The advantage of the motor home Torqueflite tranny with o/d is that
it bolts right in.  The only mods needed are that the drive shaft has
to be shortened, and the tranny tunnel slightly enlarged at the rear
to accomodate the o/d.  And then the o/d switch has to be fitted on
the dash somewhere.
