Bob, all I can say is "deja vu"! :-) Seriously, I can tell you as little or
as much as you'd like to know about EMSC. For want of putting other listers
to sleep, I'll keep it very short here and answer additional questions you
might have privately if you like.

EMSC was started in late 1953 in the Capital District (Albany) area of New
York. It was primarily a rallye club but through the years also hosted many,
many gymkhanas and later autocross/Solo II-type events. It was always an
independent club that worked at times very closely with other independents
and with the Mohawk-Hudson Region of SCCA. (Not surprisingly, there always
was a good bit of "cross-pollination" between those two groups!)

Currently, the club still exists, although primarily on paper (it is
incorporated). Hopefully those 5-10 of us who were active members up through
the mid-1990s, when membership and events dwindled down to a very few, will
find a way to reinvigorate this group.

I've been a member since 1972 and have served at various times as
co-editor/publisher, eventmaster (all kinds of events, including picnics),
Treasurer and President. I was also honored a number of years ago to be named
one of only four-ever "Life Members" of EMSC.

Those badges are rather nice, if a bit crude a casting by today's standards.
I'd be very curious to know the name of the person from whom you obtained it.

Again, feel free to contact me directly if you'd like any futher information.
