Shelly,
I've had both MGBs and MGCs (in the 1970s).  I always had 14" wheels on my 
MGBs.  My MGC had 15" wire wheels although the MGC Club recommended 14" 
wheels and a smaller steering wheel for better handling.  I never changed the 
15" wheels on the MGC as I enjoyed the ride although the handling was a bit 
taller.
