Searching for Lucas Expert!

I am the owner of a '73 TR6.  I have a headlight problem that has me baffled.  I
have no headlights unless I "jump start" the main light switch with 12 volts
(from the battery).  When this wire is connected, lights come on immediately.
This wire can be disconnected after about 10 seconds and the lights stay on.
Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?
